The EPCALM Board of Trustees (BOT) will exercise the corporate powers of the foundation, namely:

  • Establishes the direction of EPCALM, by creating or adopting the mission statement, reviewing it periodically for accuracy and validity, and revising it as necessary or desirable; 

  • Determines EPCALM’s programs and services, and monitors their compliance with the mission and their effectiveness and efficiency;

  • Approves the annual budget and actively participates in the fundraising process;

  • Participates actively with the staff in long-term and short-term strategic planning processes, including defining goals and objectives and the success of EPCALM toward achieving its mission; and

  • Serves as ambassadors for the foundation, articulating its mission, accomplishments and goals to the public, and garnering support for the foundation, to name a few if its responsibilities.

The Executive Committee are the front-liners in the implementation of the activities and projects of the foundation. Major responsibilities are as follows:

  • Elevates and enhances the knowledge and skills of the members and staff of the foundation in order for them to take appropriate actions;-

  • Ensures that the Foundation is being upheld and complied with by: Orienting, reminding, monitoring, and updating the members and staff about the policies and principles of the foundation;

  • Develops appropriate strategies, Programs and services in response to the foundation’s vision and mission; 

  • Monitors the execution of the various Programs and services of the different ministries as identified by the foundation; and

  • Establishes and strengthens partnerships with various organizations for the best interest of serving the leukemia patients and their families.

EPCALM’s Honorary Board of Trustees is a group of prominent persons — donors, artists, scientists, public officials, and others—with an interest in the foundation’s program but lacking the time, availability, or expertise to provide meaningful oversight.  The Honorary Board will serve the foundation in a non-fiduciary capacity, such as an advisory board, donors’ circle, or professional council.
