September is World Leukemia Awareness Month where adult leukemia foundation EPCALM mounted a three day health convention at the Samsung Hall at the SM Aura Premiere in Taguig City. The “Hope in Wellness Convention 2017” was composed of health talks, a bazaar and a special blood letting activity held in partnership with St. Luke’s Medical Center and Cardinal Santos Medical Center.
The opening day was attended by celebrity ambassadors. Welcoming the guests were EPCALM founder Dr. Erlyn Demerre. Guests of honor included EPCALM ambassadors Tessa Prieto Valdes, Pops Fernandez and comedian Michael V graced the opening ceremonies.
Among the activities during the opening day were a musical performance by Top Suzara, a special auction hosted by Tessa Valdes – featuring some of her pre-loved items and other items donated by Pops Fernandez and beauty queen/painter Nina Ricci Alagao. Also auctioned off was a brand new Philip Stein watch donated by Lucerne, a Briggs and Riley Sympatico luggage, a Bose Sound Touch Stereo and a painting by Eman Santos donated by Artologist Gallery.

On the second day, Department of Health Secretary Pauline Ubial and EPCALM Ambassador Heart Evangelista -Escudero was in attendance with several talks conducted by Rovilson Fernandez represented Epcalm Leukemia Foundation running at the Resorts World Manila "Run With Me" event with Aubrey Miles and Troy Montero health experts from the Philippine Heart Association and GoodLife.
Resorts World Manila has chosen EPCALM to be one of its beneficiaries and was represented by EPCALM ambassador, Rovilson Fernandez who ran under the banner of EPCALM in a fun run event that Sunday dubbed as "Run with Me" organized by Resorts World Manila. The donation was received by EPCALM officers during the said event. Other activities held at the Samsung included a meet-and-greet with EPCALM Ambassador Angel Aquino and songs from 3 church choirs from CCF, NUCC and Elinwood Malate Church with a finale by Kuh Ledesma .
