EPCALM House Blessed

EPCALM finally has a “safe haven”, which is aptly called The EPCALM House. Located at #23, 13th Street, Barangay Damayang Lagi in New Manila, Quezon City, it is envisioned as a “place of solace” for EPCALM-serviced patients and their families.

Rev. Carlos Dela Cruz leads the blessing and dedication of the EPCALM House.

A house blessing and dedication was done on 31 October 2022, officiated by Rev. Carlos dela Cruz, Senior Pastor of Ellinwood Malate Church (EMC); EMC is a partner church of EPCALM. Present were Dr. Erlyn Demerre, EPCALM Founder and Board Chair; Engr. Justice Demerre, President and CEO; as well as Board Members Connie Ancheta, Mary Ann Ojeda, Bennie Lagos, Atty. Jay Dejaresco, and Mitch Duran, among others.

The EPCALM Office, formerly located at Suite 341, Medical Arts Building of the St. Luke’s Medical Center (SLMC)-Quezon City, is now housed at this new address. At the same time, this will be the venue for EPCALM events, notably the Family Huddle, which was held face-to-face for the first time on 19 November 2022. Starting in February 2023, the Family Huddle will be conducted every other month, and will be live-streamed via Zoom for those who may not be able to attend the activity in person.

In 2023, other activities are being programmed to be held at The EPCALM House, including arts and crafts sessions, and some livelihood courses, among others. Meanwhile, it is also intended to provide limited temporary accommodation for out-of-town patients who may undergo medical treatment in Manila, or while they process their medical documents.
