Patient Journals Lessons Learned Series - No. 7

Writer's picture: EPCALMEPCALM

Mary Ana M. Alonzo, 35, was treated for acute myelogenous leukemia (AML) in 2021. After undergoing bone marrow transplantation (BMT) in October of the same year, she now lives life to the fullest – being in remission, which she prays will lead toward survivorship.

Through EPCALM, which provided her not only guided treatment options, she received spiritual care and guidance as well. Being with EPCALM boosted her morale, along with the unconditional love and support of her family.

Today, she offers the optimism she has cultivated throughout her journey as an Advocate of hope and encouragement for other patients.
