Patient Journals Lessons Learned Series - No. 9

Michael Angelo M. Glee, 33 was diagnosed with chronic myelogenous leukemia (CML) in 2019. In his leukemia journey, he sees the important role played by having a support group, which guides him on treatment options, and serves as a source of solace.

He credits his friends who are CML patients themselves, as well as EPCALM, for providing strength when he needs it the most. Through this route, he has become an Advocate himself to promote public awareness on leukemia.

The more people understand the complex nature of leukemia, Michael Angelo observed that the stigma attached to the disease is somewhat lifted. With public awareness and understanding, people show more compassion to leukemia patients now.
